It\u2019s massive in scale,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an unbelievable, beautiful 1,400-hectare private island in the middle of the Mediterranean.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump said she hopes to preserve the natural beauty of the area while carefully integrating architecture into the landscape.<\/p>\n<p>The project has reportedly been years in the making and forms part of broader development plans involving luxury tourism in Albania.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-social-media-users-draw-comparisons\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Social media users draw comparisons<\/h2>\n<p>Social media users, however, began comparing the project to\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s\u00a0private Caribbean island, Little Saint James, which became infamous due to the disgraced financier\u2019s criminal activities.<\/p>\n<p>Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were photographed together on multiple occasions during the 1980s and 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>However, Trump has repeatedly denied ever visiting Epstein\u2019s private island. Still, many social media users rushed to voice their suspicions about\u00a0Ivanka Trump\u2019s\u00a0project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEpstein Island will be rebuilt in the Adriatic,\u201d one user wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>Some critics have also argued that development could threaten local wildlife and alter the island\u2019s natural landscape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s home to flamingos, seals and sea turtles and they are going to build a resort on the once protected land,\u201d another commenter claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters, however, point out that Sazan Island has a long history of military use and has remained largely inaccessible to the public for decades.<\/p>\n<p>At the center of the debate is the question of how much development should be allowed on one of the Mediterranean\u2019s most unusual and largely untouched islands.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Trump nor Kushner has publicly responded to the online comparisons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ivanka Trump is facing criticism online after revealing plans for a major development project on a private island in the Mediterranean.
