Cannes has never been an occasion where people come as they are. The Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Lumi\u00e8re\u2019s gala screenings demand evening attire, such as cocktail dresses, long dresses, tuxedos, or dark-coloured pantsuits, according to official regulations.<\/p>\n

Before visitors enter, big bags and backpacks are checked into lockers, and trainers are strictly forbidden. However, since 2025, there has been a more stringent clothing code.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the festival amended its official charter to specifically forbid anyone from attending au naturel. Oversized trains that obstruct traffic or make it difficult to sit in the theatre are also prohibited.<\/p>\n

In accordance with French law, a festival representative said that the change was intended to reflect \u201ccertain rules that have long been in effect\u201d and that the objective was \u201cnot to regulate attire per se but to prohibit full nudity on the carpet.\u201d<\/p>\n

After several famous stunts and years of progressively sheer costumes on the carpet, the change was made.<\/p>\n

Strict security has always been a feature of the Palais, and this is now reflected in the rules.<\/p>\n

Moore had been attracting attention before to the purple Gucci moment, but that was her most notable moment. She wore a white balloon-cut dress from the Jacquemus Le Palmier line, adorned with red, black, yellow, and blue polka dots, to the jury picture call on May 12. She walked the red carpet for the opening ceremony and \u201cLa V\u00e9nus Electrique\u201d screening that same evening wearing a custom Jacquemus sequined dress with an exaggerated corset and enormous diamond necklaces.<\/p>\n
