I dismissed it with a laugh. \u201cKids are constantly changing.\u201d<\/p>\n

He kept bringing it up throughout the course of the following few weeks. I assumed he was simply overanalysing or under stress.<\/p>\n

Then he said it outright one evening.<\/p>\n

Rick\u2019s birthday meal was that weekend.<\/p>\n

I nearly called it off.<\/p>\n
