But even then, they can be vague and similar to those caused by a number of other conditions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The symptoms vary depending on what part of the pancreas \u2014 the head, body or tail\u00a0\u2014 the cancer develops.<\/h2>\n<p>The most common type of pancreatic cancer is ductal adenocarcinoma which starts in the cells that produce digestive juices.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the most common signs, as described by Cancer researshes\u00a0are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Pain in the stomach or\u00a0back<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n<p>Chronic or unexplained abdominal pain that can spread to the back may be a sign of pancreatic cancer. This pain is especially felt after eating.<\/p>\n<p>At the early stages, the pain may come and go, but as the tumor grows larger it tends to be more constant and last longer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Jaundice<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A number of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer have jaundice\u2014yellowing of the skin and eyes resulting in the buildup of bilirubin, a pigment produced by the liver.<\/p>\n<p>This happens because the tumour blocks the bile duct.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Weight loss<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n<p>Losing significant amount of weight because of no apparent reason is one of the signs of cancer in general, including pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Digestive Problems<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Poor digestion, loose stools, or stools that are oily and are accompanied by a strong odor may be a result of interference with the pancreas\u2019s enzyme production because of the presence of cancer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bowel changes<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>When and if the pancreatic duct\u00a0blocks, it may leads to a symptom called steatorrhoea or fatty stools. This means the body is not absorbing your food properly. Other bowel changes may include diarrhoea and constipation.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>New-Onset Diabetes<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In some cases, pancreatic cancer affects insulin production, causing diabetes in people who were not diabetic before.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Fatigue<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n<p>As with most other cancers, fatigue and lack of energy can be symptoms accompanying pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Blood Clots<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The risk of developing blood clots increases when a person is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
