Fans were left shocked after Terry Crews and his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, shared some deeply personal news. Speaking on the\u00a0Today<\/a>\u00a0show, she revealed she has been quietly battling Parkinson\u2019s disease for years without telling the public.<\/p>\n

She was first diagnosed back in 2015, after doctors at first thought her symptoms were just stress or anxiety. It took years before she finally got the right answer.<\/p>\n

During an interview with Today, alongside her husband, Terry, Rebecca said, \u201cI\u2019m seeing improvement. \u2026 I\u2019m able to write my name, my dates, I\u2019m able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rebecca King-Crews first began noticing something was wrong in 2012. In the early stages, the signs were subtle as she began to feel numbness in her left foot while working out. Meanwhile, her personal trainer noticed that her left arm wasn\u2019t swinging as much as it should. One morning, while applying lip gloss, she realized her left arm was shaking.<\/p>\n

She went to the doctor because of the tremors. She knew she had it because her grandmother had tremors too, but the doctor dismissed it as anxiety.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not uncommon with us ladies for someone to call everything stress,\u201d she said during her Today appearance. \u201cI asked for referrals, and I got them. And it took three years to diagnose me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, after three years of not knowing what it was, a Parkinson\u2019s specialist recognized that she had the condition. The tremors have made it difficult for her in her everyday life, like putting on makeup or brushing her teeth.<\/p>\n

Now, Rebecca King-Crews is undergoing a groundbreaking treatment that helps her with the tremors. It is focused on ultrasound.<\/p>\n

Per the\u00a0Focused Ultrasound Foundation<\/a>, the groundbreaking treatment is \u201ca noninvasive, therapeutic technology with the potential to improve the quality of life and decrease the cost of care for patients with symptoms secondary to Parkinson\u2019s disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

It further states that \u201cthis novel technology focuses beams of ultrasonic energy precisely and accurately on targets deep in the brain without damaging surrounding normal tissue.\u201d<\/p>\n

King-Crews began the treatment a month ago and is already seeing improvements. That is the reason why she has decided to go public with the Parkinson\u2019s diagnosis. She said on the\u00a0Today<\/em>\u00a0show that she doesn\u2019t want \u201cpity,\u201d but rather to spread awareness. She also believes \u201cwe are going to find a cure.\u201d<\/p>\n
